Daily Tip – The Best Fitness Product Ever!

I have discovered the greatest fitness product ever invented!  Really!

It’s called The Floor!

It slices, it dices, wait, Ok it doesn’t do that but it is all you need to get started exercising right now.  I even bet that chair you’re sitting in is on a floor.  So get off the computer and do some sit ups, or some sit ups, or even put on some music and dance!

Too often in our perfect worlds we tend to plan everything.  We can’t workout because we don’t have the right weights or the right Chuck Norris fitness machine when all you need to do is just get moving!

Doing some basic non-equipment exercises can be the best way to start your new life style.  It doesn’t have to be a perfect plan just get out of that chair and get on the floor and move.

Daily Tip – Resolutions

by Shooting Brooklyn

by Shooting Brooklyn

Now that we are well into to 2009 and we have all had a month or so to test out our New Year’s resolutions I was thinking how these goals we set may do more harm than good.

We stress over what our goals should be for the new year and we stress about how to accomplish them each year and I was wondering, what about the people who’s goals are to relax more?  What if you have borderline hypertension and you goal is to reduce your blood pressure.

By making this a goal is this actually detrimental to your health?  Is it one more thing to stress over?

So, your goal this year is to not have goals!  I know that sounds ridiculous but I can remember when I first started running I used to stress about times, and distances and I made little progress.  It wasn’t until I was introduced to the thought of running for fun and not competition that I started to enjoy it and really progress with my training.

You are allowed to have fun!  Try that approach whatever your goals are and you may see more progress than you think.

Daily Tip – Stevia

I must admit that part of my weight problem is my addiction to sugar, while I have yet to overcome this weakness.  I have discovered at least a partial alternative.

Known too many in the health food market, and used for centuries in Asia the Stevia plant is a natural plant based sweetener, safe for diabetics, and zero calories.  And no this is not one of those chemical based sweeteners like equal or sweet and low.

One tip is that you use a very small amount, and I mean small.  If you use too much it will be a bitter taste and may people quit using it because they don’t give it enough time to find the right amount to sweeten without over doing it.

Daily Tip – Indulge!

Indulge once in awhile!  Making the sacrifice to live healthier is not an easy task.  We have spent years perfecting our art of doing whatever we wanted and not worrying about the consequences.  Its not until we start getting older does it catches up to us.

So, don’t let a slip derail your new found change in life style.  The decision to live healthier should be a gradual change.  Not drastic sweeping changes otherwise you are less likely to stick to it.

Daily Tip – Organization

Let’s face it those of us who face weight problems or health problems that stem from our sedentary lifestyle are not the most disciplined lot.

So my tip for today is to get organized.  Make a plan to get healthy in the next few months, few weeks or even just the next few days.  Psychologically if you plan it you are more likely to do it.

So make a meal plan or an exercise plan and follow it.  Act on it, and stick to it even if you don’t feel like it.  Train yourself that the new plan is the norm in your life.

It’s a good way to get focused on your goals.
